Moxy Utrecht Hotel

I stayed in a Queen Room and it was super cozy. The cleanliness was on point, and I didn't hear any noise from other rooms at night, great. I loved the big windows. They let in so much light. The bathroom was clean and had all the essentials. They also had nice views. Honestly, the room was just nice enough to feel at home for my solo trip.

It was new-fashioned, neat and with a nice hip touch. The location in a beautiful area was marvellous and lovely and there were shopping centres and a supermarket nearby. We dined at Camping Ganspoort, that is just 200 metres away.

There is a lot of great food for breakfast. The room is quiet where bed was completely messy.

The room was super clean, and the kids loved the sofa bed. The breakfast was solid, too, especially those cute mini pastries! The only thing was the noise from the fan. It was a bit annoying at night. It was cool with the family.

They've got some quirks that could use a rethink. For starters, the lack of a kettle and mini-fridge in the room is frustrating, especially if you want to have a hot drink or keep baby food handy-it means trailing to reception for every little thing. My room was also cold. Storage is practically nonexistent. No drawers or closets to speak of. Breakfast kind of underwhelmed considering the price, as I found some items served at less than ideal temperatures. Plus, the noise from the lobby area can be a bit much, especially during peak times when it feels like chaos outside my door.

And the staff. They surprised us with some complimentary treats for our anniversary, which honestly meant a lot.

Wasn't exactly dirt cheap, but considering the experience,, I think it was worth it.

Recommend it for solo travelers

The room wassuper clean and cozy, except for the noisy fan that seemed to work against me. I had a great time during breakfast, especially those pink doughnuts, just sheer pleasure and a guilty indulgence. And believe me, I don't usually indulge.

It wasn't inexpensive, but I guess that's the price you pay for a place like this.

Noise can be a significant issue, particularly with sound leakage from the bar and lobby, disrupting the otherwise nice atmosphere. The lack of adequate storage in rooms makes it challenging for longer stays, especially when you're trying to find space for your travel gear. The breakfast quality doesn't quite match the price, leaving some items served at less-than-ideal temperatures.

During my solo trip, I encountered some significant issues with cleanliness that detracted from my overall experience. The first room I was assigned had an unpleasant smell and visible stains, leading to an uncomfortable stay. After discussing with the staff, I was moved to two more rooms, all of which had similar cleanliness problems. Although they eventually agreed to refund me for the first night, it didn’t alleviate the frustration of dealing with unclean accommodations.

The staff at Moxy Utrecht is very welcoming and enthusiastic. the location of the hotel is fantastic, situated in the Zuid district near many areas in the Netherlands. It's just a lovely walk along the canal into town.

The hotel room was spacious and beautifully designed with a nice hip touch. the location was amazing, really close to Utrecht city center and the train station.

The breakfast offered here is one of the best I have seen recently, including rooms that come with bottled water, a nice hip touch, and a choice of tea or coffee.
